19th Annual Toledo Art Walk
September 1st - September 3rd, 2012
This Labor Day, the many artists who live and work in Toledo, Oregon, will open their doors to the public for the 19th Annual Toledo Art Walk. Several galleries will hold special receptions and events throughout the weekend.
Art Walk began in 1993 as a small show for three Toledo artists – Michael Gibbons, Douglas Haga, and Ivan Kelly – as an extension of Vistas and Vineyards in Corvallis. When the inaugural show drew an unexpectedly large crowd, the founders decided to make it an annual event. Attendance has grown steadily every year since and the event now draws thousands to Toledo each year. Because most of the participating artists live and work full time in Toledo and several open their studios to the public, Art Walk has truly become an annual celebration of the community. Many of the artists offer lectures and demonstrations, and the event offers a rare opportunity for the public to meet and personally talk with the artist. This year’s line-up of artists promises a richly varied selection of high quality artwork.
