Join us at the Pacific NW Wild Mushroom Cook-off to see what our local Oregon Chef’s have prepared in an effort to dazzle your taste buds! The cook-off is open from 11am-2pm. Admission is free, with tasting sized portions available for a small fee.
Sponsored by the Lincoln City Visitor & Convention Bureau, in cooperation with the Lincoln County Mycological Society; come enjoy a lecture on foraging and wild mushrooms, foraging tour, live cooking competition, wild mushroom identification booth, food vendors, wild mushroom books, people’s choice award and more!
FORAGING & WILD MUSHROOM LECTURE- Wild mushroom foraging is a favorite past-time of the Pacific Northwest. There is an abundance of edible specimens and NW Chef’s have come to use these delectable goodies in a variety of ways. Join Lars Norgren in the Driftwood Public Library at 10:15am for a lecture on foraging and wild mushrooms. Then join us at the cook-off where we will have a booth that you can have an expert identify your find.
WILD MUSHROOM FORAY (Foraging Tour)- At 11am join Dominique Long, Oregon State Parks & Rec for a Wild Mushroom Foray. She will take the first 10 people to sign up out in the woods to forage for wild mushrooms and other edible plants.
